Opened in early 2014, The University of Hong Kong Visitor Centre is housed in the Workmen’s Quarters of the former Elliot Pumping Station and Filters site of the Water Supplies Department. This red brick rectangular building is one of the two historic buildings marking the entrance of the HKU Centennial Campus.

Constructed in 1918-19, the Workmen's Quarters is a single storey brick communal residence with three rooms which housed Chinese workers and watchmen. The building is a representative example of the basic accommodation provided for Chinese workmen’s on Government works sites. The architectural qualities and scale of this building are simple in nature. It is essentially intact both externally and internally. The Workmen's Quarters Building has been classified as a Grade III historic building and revitalized to become the HKU Visitor Centre.

香港大學訪客中心位處水務署前西區抽水站及濾水廠工人宿舍，於2014年初啟用。此紅磚屋是兩棟建於香港大學百周年校園入口的歷史建築物之一。

始建於1918-19年，此工人宿舍是一間公用的三房單棟磚屋，為中國工人及護衛員提供基本住宿，是當時政府工地上中國工人宿舍的代表性建築。其建築質素及比例簡單，基本上內外保存良好，獲古物古蹟辦事處評為三級歷史建築物，現今更活化成香港大學訪客中心。
