The Faculty of Education was orginally established in 1917 at HKU as the Department for the Training of Teachers within the Faculty of Arts. It was the first teacher training institute in Hong Kong, equipping its students with the knowledge and abilities to meet the educational needs of a steadily development society.
Over nine decades and many generations on, the Faculty has grown in size and scope, but its commitment to sering the community remains undiminished. The research endeavours of its members continue to be pioneering and high-impact, and its graduates are prepared for the globalised knowledge-based world we now live in with educational expertise that is fit for purpose.
