三聯書店肇始於二十世紀三、四十年代活躍於中國出版界的三家著名出版發行機構—生活書店、讀書出版社、新知書店。
一九四八年三家出版社成立香港聯合發行所，日漸發展成今日的三聯書店（香港）。三聯書店（香港）延續前人熱愛生活、關心社群的精神，積極推動本地文化創意，致力和作者一起出版優質圖書，發揚「人文關懷．生活品味」理念。
現時三聯書店除了出版書籍外，在香港亦設有十七間書店，同時亦積極開拓電子書的市場。
