American Express engages in Social Context Advertising and Custom Audiences on Facebook.
Social Context Advertising uses social actions taken by you (such as ‘liking’ American Express or ‘voting’ in one of our competitions) to generate advertising that is then served on your friends.
Custom Audiences allows us to identify you as a Cardmember and link other information to you, such as the card types that you hold. This allows us to present content that is better tailored to your interests.
